Steve Cradock - live @ king tuts wah wah hut

many thanks to Ian Shillinglaw for this review of Steve Cradock's recent gig at the legendary king tut's

King Tuts Wah Wah Hut is a venue of some legend which i won't bore you with because you can look it up but it is a fantastic rock venue. Entering down some steps and through the main bar, stopping only for a light refreshment, the main venue is up a flight of steps into a small back room capable of holding about 300 people at a squeeze and letting you get up close and personal with the performers. In short a great rock venue.

First on were States of Emotion who were extremely popular with the crowd and well worth a listen.Latest song The Unsung is out now and i was even moved to buy their EP at the gig.Great rock band who warmed up the crowd for Cradock with ease.

On came the man and launched straight into Last days of the old world and proceeded to bring the house down as they say with a mixture of new and old material that never failed to amaze. The band were tight and were enjoying themselves which is always a good sign with Sally Cradock in fine voice. The new material from 'Peace City West' was particularly impressive and that LP is well worth a listen. 'I man' ended the set and was an epic anthem that brought the place to a crescendo of noise and excitement. An encore followed and Mr Cradock left us all singing '' it's all too beautiful '' Absolutely stunning rock gig,

The crowd were hot.sweaty and happy and i haven't seen that many smiles in a long time. Out into the cool Glasgow night happy and tired to home and to sleep well.
