taking a little break over easter, re-charge the creative juices!
when i get back though i have an epic interview from the jamming! legend that is Tony Fletcher
also an interview with the genius modernist photographer, sleeve designer and video film maker for amongst others Steve Cradock and Ocean Colour Scene Stefan Duerr
plus a mixtape, single review and desert island choices from Wayne Morgan from the secret faces, if you haven't heard of them yet, you soon will!
and then, the soundtrack for summer 2011 'The Brights' - album review, mixtape, interviews and more!
but before i go this my mixtape ep!
'making time'
SIDE A
making time - the creation
eddie phillips, the creation - a power pop mod combo, full of pilled up energy! for me the lyrics to this song are a mod anthem, a soundtrack to an edgy networking mod about town.
the love affair - rainbow valley
steve ellis, what a voice! a band of young mods that were slightly out of sync, a little too late with the first mod wave. Ellis deserved to be up their with your Stewart's, just like marriott.
SIDE B
Traffic - Paper Sun
another voice, Stevie Winwood. Such a great piece of British Psych from such a great band, just before they found the country
The Pretty Things - Private Sorrow
this album has been a revelation to me this year, i'd heard of the pretty things but always had them down as rough n'ready not possible of the masterpiece that is 'S F Sorrow', then saw this advertised as a reissue in reflex, took a punt, and now rarely off the car stereo, sound's better loud and close.
HAPPY EASTER & ST GEORGE'S DAY!
ENJOY THE BREAK!
be seeing you.............
